This was very unnecessary and out of character.

The Big Bang Theory is one of those shows that had some questionable jokes even when it was on the air, let alone today. Unfortunately, it is unlikely to stand the test of time and check out unproblematic in 2023.

Even though fans are used to it and willing to admit the problematic behavior of their favorite characters, some moments still come as a shock.

One episode that stood out to viewers both when they first watched The Big Bang Theory and when they rewatched it was season 6, episode 7, when Sheldon hosted a special Star Trek edition of his game show Fun With Flags.

The special guest of the episode was Wil Wheaton, and let's just say he did not get along with Amy Fowler, who was standing behind the camera.

Although he is a professional actor who is doing this show for free just for the fun of it, Wil was constantly interrupted by Amy's cuts and directions, to the point where he snapped at her.

As much as the audience didn't think his snap was very nice, it wasn't nearly as nasty as it could have been.

The majority of the audience agreed that Amy was the real bad guy in the situation, not reading the room and trying to take control of everything.

If there was supposed to be any humor in that scene, it just didn't come through, leaving fans just as upset on Wil's behalf.

Of course, it's hard to believe with Wheaton's history of doing all sorts of devious things in past episodes, but it was refreshing to see him in the right.

The situation may have left an ugly scar on Amy and Sheldon's relationship because he refused to choose her side in the conflict, but it became a good learning lesson for Amy herself.

Whether or not you think Amy was in the right in this situation, the episode is still entertaining to watch. Thankfully, the ickiness of the moment quickly wears off and the character improves by learning from her mistakes.

If you need to refresh your memory, you can watch all the seasons of The Big Bang Theory on Netflix or MAX.
