The second half of 2024 promises to be just as busy with TV series premieres as the first.

This summer will see the return of some of the biggest hits of recent years, as well as new projects that promise to be an exciting cinematic experience.

1. The Acolyte, Season 1

Release Date: June 4 | Streaming Platform: Disney+

The plot of the miniseries The Acolyte takes place long before the main films of the franchise, during the heyday of the Republic. The main characters – a former Padawan and a Jedi Master – begin to investigate a series of sinister crimes related to the growing power of the dark side. As events unfold, the characters realize they are up against something truly powerful and dangerous.

The showrunner of The Acolyte is Leslye Headland, known as one of the co-creators of Russian Doll.

2. Presumed Innocent, Season 1

Release Date: June 12 | Streaming Platform: Apple TV+

Apple TV+ will show us a remake of the 1990 legal drama Presumed Innocent, starring Harrison Ford. Based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow, the film tells the story of prosecutor Rusty Sabich, who falls recklessly in love with a young woman named Carolyn. As fate would have it, Carolyn is brutally murdered, and Rusty becomes the prime suspect in the case.

The showrunner of the new version of Presumed Innocent is the great master of smart, multi-layered detective stories, David E. Kelley, winner of 11 Emmy Awards, creator of Big Little Lies and The Undoing. The series stars Jake Gyllenhaal.

3. The Boys, Season 4

Release Date: June 13 | Streaming Platform: Prime Video

The Boys returns for its fourth season. In the new chapter, the creators of the show promise even more dark humor and cruelty.

According to the official synopsis, Billy Butcher, who finds himself outside the team, will be forced to deal with his inner demons on his own, while Homelander continues to consolidate his power in the White House.

4. House of the Dragon, Season 2

Release Date: June 16 | Streaming Platform: Max

House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel, is returning for a second season. It is expected that the events of the new series will be dedicated to the period of the Dance of Dragons, which is the name of the war between Rhaenyra and Aegon Targaryen for the right to be the new ruler of Westeros.

According to the creator of the project, Ryan Condal, in the second season of House of the Dragon there will be many spectacular battle scenes, most of which will be concentrated between the Black and Green troops. In the best traditions of Game of Thrones, they promise the deaths of fan-favorite characters and, of course, big-scale dragon fights.

5. The Bear, Season 3

Release Date: June 27 | Streaming Platform: Hulu

One of the biggest hits of recent years returns to the small screen for a third season. The Bear tells the story of talented chef Carmy Berzatto, who returns to his native Chicago to rebuild the small diner he inherited after his brother's death.

According to the creators, the third season of The Bear will feature more culinary masterpieces and crazy dynamics. The showrunner of the project, Christopher Storer, promised viewers that he would return to the atmosphere of "aggressive" cuisine of the first season.
