Wahlberg has a special reverence for people who have fought in wars and survived battles.
He supports charitable foundations that provide assistance to the U.S. military and their families.
So when Cruise compared the filming of the movie to a military operation, it literally threw the actor off balance.
On the red carpet for Lone Survivor, a movie based on a true story during the war in Afghanistan, Mark, who played the title role, was pretty blunt about Cruise's words:
"For actors to sit there and talk about 'Oh I went to SEAL training,' and I slept on the — I don't give a f**k what you did. You don't do what these guys did. For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as somebody in the military's. How f**king dare you. While you sit in a makeup chair for two hours."
Mark initially didn't know that his statement primarily concerned Tom Cruise and apologized to his colleague.
He did not even think of insulting him, but still considered the comparison of war with filming a movie not the most relevant.
The actor's fans also agreed that despite the rudeness, the actor's comment was more than appropriate, despite the fact that Cruise is known to prepare for his roles physically and diligently, performing even the most dangerous stunts himself.
Aside from the military, Mark Wahlberg also supports victims of harassment. It is known that the actor donated $ 1.5 million to the Time's Up charity, which provides legal assistance to victims of rape and harassment.
The artist received this amount for participating in the reshoots of the 2017 movie All the Money in the World by Ridley Scott, which were carried out after the producers decided to cut scenes with Kevin Spacey, who was previously accused of harassment.
As a result, 87-year-old Christopher Plummer played billionaire John Paul Getty instead of 58-year-old Spacey.
