The departure of one of the actors led to the worst episode in the show's history.

Set in the 1970s US, That '70s Show follows the lives of six Wisconsin teenagers and their parents. The disco era, flared jeans, the Beatles and feminism are all present in the series.

The characters always find themselves in hilarious situations, and failure seems to be following them, but they always find a way out of it. The series uses humor to tell about the problems that are inherent in almost all young people and how to overcome them.

Along with Friends, Community and Seinfeld, That '70s Show has become a cult sitcom that hasn't lost its relevance 17 years after its final season.

The show was bathed in the glory and love of viewers and critics alike, right up until its eighth and final season.

Now, many fans agree that the sitcom should have ended with season 7, since actor Topher Grace, who played one of the most beloved characters, Eric Forman, did not return to his role in the eighth season (except for the final episode).

Grace starred in several major movies while also filming That '70s Show, but by season 8 he was determined to develop his career only on the big screen. Topher, in particular, didn't appear for most of season 8 as he starred as Venom/Eddie Brock in Spider-Man 3.

In addition, Ashton Kutcher, who played Michael Kelso on the sitcom, was gaining popularity as a movie actor at the same time, and his screen time was also limited in season 8.

All of this led to one of the episodes of the eighth season, Keep Yourself Alive, receiving the lowest rating in the show's history.

The episode is currently rated 6.3. Viewers didn’t appreciate the episode because almost all of the main stars were absent, and it was the only time when Eric's basement did not appear.

However, the show's creators still managed to end the show on a high note – in the final episode, the entire main cast returned to say goodbye, and That '70s Finale was appreciated by fans – its rating is 8.9.
