Terry Crews Was in The Walking Dead, And He’s Eager to Return
It turns out that the beloved actor is a fan of the show himself.
Terry Crews, the lively and charismatic actor we mostly know for cracking us up in comedy films, is surprisingly a huge fan of The Walking Dead. Just picture how thrilled he must have been when he landed a role in the show’s spinoff, Tales of the Walking Dead!
If you skipped this spinoff that premiered last August, Crews plays Joe, a man who took refuge with his dog when the zombie apocalypse began. After his dog's death, Joe ventures into the post-apocalyptic world, where he crosses paths with Evie, portrayed by Olivia Munn.
Crews and Munn aren't exactly new pals. They teamed up before on The Newsroom and have been buddies for ages. To mark their on-screen reunion, Crews even posted a sketch of Munn on Instagram.
Despite their differences, Joe and Evie form a unique bond amidst the madness they're wading through. In an interview with FandomWire, Crews humorously noted that Evie is the true survivor between the two.
While Joe keeps finding himself in some tight spots, it’s Evie who keeps swooping in to save the day. Crews loves the ray of hope that Evie's character shines into Joe's world, stressing that her sunny outlook is its own kind of survival tool.
The first episode concludes on a surprisingly hopeful note, especially for a series known for its intense and brutal storytelling.
Crews is more than ready to reprise his role. When the return of Rick and Michonne was announced at San Diego Comic-Con, Crews was ecstatic.
He’s buzzing with ideas, whether that means teaming up with Rick and Michonne in their upcoming spinoff, or crossing paths with other legendary figures like Negan, Maggie, or Daryl.
"I am open, I wanna leave it open, I am willing to do any of that. I wanna come back in this world."
Terry Crews' love for The Walking Dead is just radiating off him, both as a superfan and now as a player in its sprawling saga. While Terry's itching to get back to the land of zombies and heroes, we're right there with him, super excited to see him in this universe again.
