Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Father? Totally Possible, According to Josh Radnor
It looks like How I Met Your Mother's Ted Mosby may finally make an appearance in How I Met Your Father.
The hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother ended almost eight years ago, but the show's fans are desperate to see their favourite character grace their screens again, one way or another. And now that Hulu has launched How I Met Your Father with Hilary Duff in the lead, everyone's darling Ted Mosby may very well be putting in an appearance in the spinoff. The first season of the new show has already featured one character from the original show: Cobie Smulders' Robin turned up in the season finale to drop some wisdom on Hilary Duff's character regarding her complicated romantic relationships.
Hulu is to start releasing new How I Met Your Father episodes on 24 January and rumor has it, the new season may feature another character from the original show, Josh Radnor's Ted Mosby, whose cameo is being eagerly anticipated by thousands of fans.
And it seems like it's not just the fans that want to see Ted Mosby again: in an interview for Newsweek, Josh Radnor talked about what he thinks of the idea and shared some behind-the-scenes news.
"I had a really sweet email exchange with Hilary Duff. We kind of went back and forth about being the I on How I Met Your… She has said publicly she would love to have me on, so I wouldn't turn down an invitation," Radnor said.
Of course, Radnor will most likely only be appearing for a brief cameo rather than as a recurring supporting character. Most fans are cool with that, hoping that Ted's stint on the spinoff, however brief it may be, will right one of the original show's worst wrongs, namely, the way it glossed over Ted's happy life with his wife Tracy, played by Cristin Milioti.
Here's How Much Money Friends Was Pulling In During Its Final Season
The thing is, the events in the spinoff take place before Tracy's untimely death from an unspecified illness briefly alluded to in How I Met Your Mother's divisive finale, which means, that potentially, How I Met Your Father may offer fans a glimpse of Ted's happy family life and perhaps even show his kids, if the showrunners choose to indulge the fans.
