Ted Lasso Finale’s Callback To The Pilot You 100% Missed

Despite the fact that Ted Lasso did not live up to the high expectations that the majority of fans had for its final season 3, many people still praise the show as a whole.

No matter what opinion people had about the ending, either finding it extremely predictable and boring or the best ending for the titular character, the show itself is still worth all the attention it got.

What proves the extra thought that went into every Ted Lasso episode are all the easter eggs that fans still find throughout the episodes and the finale upon re-watching.

If you give the final episode a second chance and pay more attention to the details, you might find a rather interesting and heartwarming callback to the very first episode of the show.

Upon arriving in London, Ted complains to Coach Beard about his experience on the plane. He mentions how his anxiety kept him awake and he couldn't sleep no matter how hard he tried.

In the words of Coach Lasso himself, he was thinking about not sleeping and then thinking about thinking about not sleeping.

In the series finale, however, things change quite a bit. While it was rather predictable that Ted Lasso would make the decision to return to his son, no one expected it to be so healing for Ted.

So much so that in the final scene of the show, he's shown waking up in an airplane upon landing after a seemingly calm flight.

Whether this is because Ted Lasso finally made it to the higher class of the plane and was able to rest comfortably, or because he feels accomplished with his life, we don't know. Perhaps the decision to return home was much easier and brought him much more fulfillment and inner peace.
