We have two teams already shaping up for the Dance of the Dragons. Let's find out more about them.

'House of the Dragon ' is inevitably approaching the climax of its story — a civil war between the Targaryens dubbed "the Dance of the Dragons". In the squabble for the throne, there were two teams — the Greens and the Blacks, and the show has already dropped a hint at them in episode 5.

When Queen Alicent entered the pre-wedding party for Rhaenyra, she was a) fashionably late and b) fashionably rocking a vivid green outfit — a sign that traditionally means that House Hightower is going to war. Even though Rhaenyra wore white and not black, people immediately deemed Alicent's dramatic entrance as the first signal of team formation.

The Greens are the faction of House Targaryen who stood with Alicent and her son Aegon II as the future king. This team used the personal sigil of Aegon II Targaryen as their symbol: a golden dragon that symbolizes Sunfyre on the black background. Among this group, aside from Aegon II, Alicent and her father Otto Hightower, were Queen Helaena Targaryen who rode Dreamfyre, and Prince Aemond Targaryen who rode Vhagar — the biggest living dragon in Westeros. Another dragonrider standing with the Greens was Prince Daeron Targaryen.

The Blacks, in turn, are the team supporting Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen as the rightful heir of King Viserys, and therefore the future Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Spearheaded by Rhaenyra and her dragon Syrax, the team also included Daemon and Caraxes, Jacaerys Velaryon and Verax, Lucerys Velaryon and Arrax, Joffrey Velaryon and Tyraxes, and Prince Aegon Targaryen who rode Stormcloud as well as Rhaenys Targaryen riding Meleys and Baela Targaryen with Moondancer.

It's unlikely that the show will precisely follow the book's version of the teams. What is highly likely, though, is that the squabble for the throne will end up in a fiery and bloody fight between people and dragons, and we must prepare ourselves for even more gore and violence coming up.

'House of the Dragon' is currently streaming on HBO Max. New episodes premiere every Sunday.
