TBBT Questions Fans Still Need Answers To Even After Series Finale
Giving some storylines an open ending is a popular tactic, but sometimes not knowing can still be annoying.
The Big Bang Theory premiered in 2007 with the pilot and ended its season 12 in 2019. The show managed to successfully air 279 episodes during these years.
Needless to say, the sitcom was a huge success at the time, and even now it's at the top of the list of shows people watch over and over again.
And despite the fact that the show offered a brilliant finale that almost all the fans were satisfied with, they still have questions to the showrunners concerning some other storylines that were abandoned towards the end of the show or simply not covered well enough.
In fact, there is one particular thing that has bothered fans since the beginning of the series, and it has never been answered.
How did Penny afford her apartment? The writers of the show never established the possibility that her family was helping her financially (and as we know, they're not that stable themselves, so that just doesn't work).
She works as a waitress and is a struggling actress with almost no parts, yet she could afford to live in the same building as two adult physicists who couldn't afford to live on their own. Something about that just feels odd, and fans never got to know how Penny managed to pull it off.
There are other things that fans need to know. For example, will Howard ever get his Ph.D.? As fans remember, his master's degree was the running joke of the show, and Sheldon made fun of him for not having a Ph. doctorate in about every episode.
Well, usually Howard just didn't pay attention to all those stupid jokes of his weird friend, but it comes to an end where he gets really bothered and joins a course of Sheldon just to prove that he, like all his friends and even his wife, is actually qualified enough to get that degree at any time.
But the fans never saw the end of that course, nor did they get the explanation that Howard got his Ph.D. some day after that, or maybe his intentions to get one after the finale. The work nerds just couldn't find a way to be quiet about it and are still bugged to learn if Wolowitz will ever get it.
Another thing that still bothers fans is the question of Penny being a successful mother. As we remember, she told Leonard over the years that she didn't want to have children, and the writers stuck to that storyline until the very end. In the last episode, however, they decided to change that and get Penny pregnant.
Well, a lot of fans were actually upset with that kind of change, as well as Penny actress Kaley Cuoco. But still, in the show, Penny actually seemed happy about her future motherhood.
Unfortunately, that wasn't enough for fans to understand what kind of mother she would actually be. Well, sorry, but not even a glimpse of it.
