TBBT Had One Chance To Give Raj a Happily Ever After, And Totally Blew It
He had more girls than anyone, yet ended up alone.
Although relationships were not a focus of The Big Bang Theory in the beginning, as the seasons changed, the main characters found themselves involved with others.
Some romances blossomed, some turned into marriages, and some went through a lot just to be reunited in the end.
The romances added depth to the show and made it feel complete when the finale aired. However, one character was left alone, and not many fans find that fair.
Rajesh Koothrappali, portrayed by Kunal Nayyar and mostly referred to as Raj in the show, had more romantic interests throughout the episodes than anyone else.
While it's hard to call him a womanizer, you can't deny the growth he had from the beginning, when he couldn't even talk to a woman without the influence of alcohol or certain anxiety medications.
Although he is much better at casual one-night stands than real relationships, Raj gives few women a chance throughout the series.
Lucy, who has struggled with social anxiety much like Raj himself, becomes the one who helps him overcome it. Emily and Claire, both of whom he did dirty while caught up in his own feelings.
Women came and went from him, but these romances didn't seem to affect him too much.
However, fans believe there was one person who could take his character development to a whole other level.
Issabella, who was Raj's cleaning lady at Caltech, was never exactly the type he would date.
Played by Maria Canals-Barrera, she was older than him and had a job he didn't respect at first.
But for the first time, his interest in women seemed genuine enough to overcome any prejudices he might have had.
Many see this relationship as a missed opportunity for the writers to both give Rajesh a happy ending and make it a great learning point.
Even more fans agree that this storyline was dropped too casually, as the show never even explored the reasons for their breakup.
If you want to watch The Big Bang Theory again and decide for yourself who's the best match for Raj, you can stream the show on Netflix or MAX.
