TBBT Completely Failed Penny, But At Least Made Everyone’s Biggest Dream Come True
The gang has been united in their wish of seeing this happening for years.
The Big Bang Theory ’s finale that aired back in 2019 may have completely mistreated some of its lead characters like Penny or Raj, yet there was at least one thing that made all of the friend group’s members truly happy (apparently, fans also joined them since it was clearly something that everyone was awaiting).
Throughout the show’s run, all storylines altered and took unexpected turns; but one remained stable until the final season’s ending.
The Big Bang Theory reveals a significant problem for all of the tenants and visitors of that building in Pasadena right in season 1 episode 1, when Leonard and Sheldon state that their building’s elevator is broken (constantly).
The show’s following seasons right up to the last twelfth one don’t give a single update on the notorious elevator, which actually made Penny and her friends suffer every so often when they had to climb all the stairs even when they weren’t really able to.
The Big Bang Theory’s huge mystery is finally unveiled in season 3 when Leonard tells Penny that it was actually him and Sheldon who broke the elevator. The confession eventually gives Leonard all the heat from Penny who blames him for making her put an effort into going up and down the stairs every single day.
The show’s finale gives closure not only to its lead characters (though some of them never ended up being happy anyway), but also to its never-changing plot line revealing that the elevator has finally been fixed after all those years.
The good news causes a whole celebration when all the characters start finding any possible excuse to use the elevator throughout the rest of the final episode.
Despite the show’s controversial ending that never made it up to Penny for her abandoned dream job or to Raj for his failed attempts to find love, there was still a place for some kind of a little dream that every member of the group had, and seeing it finally come true was a good way to wrap the whole story up.
