It turned out that the director is a big fan of the actress.

It is common in world cinema for an actor and a director to form a special connection that carries over from movie to movie.

Some directors prefer to change the cast in every new project, while others always find a place in the movie for one particular actor.

Apparently, Jennifer Lawrence had every chance to become one of the regular actresses in Tarantino's projects, but circumstances did not allow it.

The female lead in Quentin Tarantino 's The Hateful Eight is played with absolute brilliance by Jennifer Jason Leigh.

But the role of criminal Daisy Domergue almost went to Jennifer Lawrence, best known as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games and Mystique from X-Men.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tarantino said he was a big fan of Lawrence's work and even met with her to talk about the role of Daisy:

"I'm a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan…And I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything. She was just doing me a courtesy to see me, I think. She was doing Joy. She had to do all this publicity on the Hunger Games movies."

In the end, however, the role went to Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the director admitted that he was happy that it worked out that way. In his opinion, Lawrence was too young for the role, despite her acting talent.

Quentin Tarantino also confirmed rumors that Jennifer Lawrence was in talks to star in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

When the project was first announced in 2017, the fans immediately began discussing Brad Pitt and Lawrence joining the project.

Many then assumed that Jennifer was in talks for the role of Sharon Tate, but in the end it went to Margot Robbie. This particular rumour turned out to be untrue, but the fact that Lawrence could play in the movie is the truth.

During the interview on WTF podcast, Tarantino revealed that he met with Lawrence to read the script and offered her the role of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, the character eventually played by Dakota Fanning.
