The first two episodes of Superman & Lois season 3 are finally out.

We have yet to discover the global events in which the iconic superhero Superman and his wife, the magnificent journalist Lois Lane, will be involved. Nevertheless, the series has already intrigued DC fans with the arrival of a supervillain who clearly has the power and intellect to rival Kent's greatest enemy (and former friend), Lex Luthor.

Created by Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti, the series was originally planned as part of the Arrowverse, but in its second season it was decided to keep it separate from the events of Prime-Earth.

Superman & Lois follows the story of Clark Kent's early years as Superman and his wife Lois Lane as they decide to return to Smalville to raise their two children, Jonathan and Jordan Kent. But even in a small town, events provoked by villains disrupt the Kent family's normal life.

The show is both a fusion of The Man of Steel and Smalville and their spiritual successor. It will be all the more interesting to see Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) finally emerge as a villain, since Luthor was a less pronounced antagonist in Smallville.

However, season three introduced us to a new supervillain who seems far more dangerous than Luthor, at least in the short run.

In the first episode of the new season, Henry Miller/Atom-Man is on the loose. When Superman attempts to neutralize him, Miller is shot and killed. To Kent's and the audience's shock, a sinister, hooded, sound-manipulating figure is revealed.

The name is Onomatopoeia!

This is one of the most dangerous villains in the comics, although he is usually (we do not know Onomatopoeia's gender in the series, so we will refer to the character as "they" below) the enemy of heroes and villains without superpowers: Green Arrow, Batman, and even the Joker. In the show, Onomatopoeia looks even more intimidating and powerful than their comic book counterpart, as they can not only manipulate sound waves, but even deceive Kryptonian hearing.

Even more intriguing, in this universe they work for the crime syndicate of Metropolis, Intergang, led by Bruno Mannheim. What do Superman's enemies have to hide?

Notably, Lex Luthor was also associated with Intergang. Well, we'll see what happens next, and hopefully Luther won't be inferior to Onomatopoeia.
