Even four years after the finale.

The unexpected rise in popularity is what USA Network's Suits is now facing. With Netflix bringing the show to the platform, it is gaining hundreds of new fans. The reasons for this are not so obvious, but well, maybe there were just so many closeted legal drama lovers...

The show premiered in 2011 and had a nine-season run until 2019. It starred Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter, Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross, Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt, Sarah Rafferty as Donna Paulsen, Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson, and Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane.

As with any successful show, there have been ideas to create a spin-off series based on the show. In fact, fans have talked about wanting to see Harvey or Jessica at the beginning of their careers. Or even have a show focusing on Meghan Markle's character Rachel.

Although the creator of the show wanted to go in another direction. As it turns out, Aaron Korsh is willing to do a prequel show, but with a totally different Zane as the main character.

Korsh told his fans on X (formerly Twitter) that although nothing is in the works right now (no reboot or spinoff whatsoever), he is still open to doing a new show based on Suits after the writers' strike is over. And the perfect idea for such a show is to focus on a young Robert Zane, just out of law school in the early 90s.

The show's creator revealed that USA Network wasn't interested in a new show back then, but maybe now with all the newfound popularity it's a good idea to offer them the new show?

This kind of spinoff could actually work on many levels. One is that the former Suits characters who weren't on the show for the last few seasons wouldn't have to appear in the prequel.
