Fans think they know what the Roy's family patriarch will do next.

The long-awaited fourth season of Succession, an American satirical black comedy-drama television series from HBO, is finally here.

Unfortunately, this season will be the finale for the series, much to the chagrin of fans who have grown attached to the Roy family over the years.

Although the season is not over yet, fans believe they saw some rather dark foreshadowing in the season premiere episode.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

It is repeated several times that Waystar Royco, a conglomerate of which Logan Roy, the family patriarch, is the CEO, will be sold in 48 hours.

However, if Logan decides not to go through with the deal, his children will end up with nothing, their bid to buy out Pierce Global News will die because they won't get their 5% of the proceeds from the sale, and their father will once again outsmart them.

But if Logan really does back out of the GoJo sale just to prevent his kids from buying Pierce, it could actually turn the shareholders against him, unless he finds a way to sabotage GoJo's stock price or some equally brilliant scheme to turn it back into a merger of equals.

The deal was the only way to secure Waystar's future, and sacrificing it in favor of a personal vendetta could signal that Logan has lost his edge, which is the only thing keeping him in power.

Still, as Reddit user PeteSweaty20 said:

"From the conversation he has with his bodyguard I think it's safe to assume that he's done with the notion that he needs to leave this life with anything of value especially when he doesn't believe that there's anything afterwards. What's the point of leaving anything behind? Take everyone down with you."

Fans continue to wrap their heads around the possible ways the season will end, asking each other questions about what the contract would look like for such a transaction and what the penalty, if any, would be for pulling out of such a deal.

Anyway, we're currently at the point when only time will tell. Episode 2 of season 4 will be released on April 2, 2023.
