Succession Just Delivered One Of The Most Terrifyingly Realistic TV Deaths

Succession, a hit satirical black comedy-drama TV series on HBO, just delivered a gut punch to fans with its most heartbreaking episode.

The sheer abruptness of the tragedy left them in tears, just like members of the Roy family.

With no foreshadowing of the events to come, the third episode of season four began as usual. Logan Roy, the patriarch of the Roy family, boards a plane and leaves for Sweden while his children gather on a yacht.

However, their reunion is interrupted by a sudden call from Tom, who informs the siblings that their father has collapsed on the plane.

Unfortunately, the crew's efforts to revive him fail and Logan Roy is pronounced dead, so his children go to the airport to retrieve the body.

Of course, this is only a brief summary of the events, but what struck viewers hardest was how devastatingly realistic the whole event was, which is unusual for most TV shows.

Without any dramatic build-up, Logan's death is as abrupt and untimely as it sadly often is in real life. Anyone who has lost a family member can relate to the emotions of the siblings, brilliantly portrayed by the actors.

One moment the person is there, alive and well, and the next they are gone forever. The show doesn't even show Logan dying, which only adds to the discomfort of the scene.

Such gruesome realism left fans in shock, with many taking to social media comment sections to point out how personal it felt and to recall their own experiences dealing with such loss.
