Stranger Things Star Says Writers Strike Can Actually Be Good For Season 5
Don't get too scared too soon.
The Writers Guild of America strike that started on May 2 this year had generated a lot of buzz around it.
This strike is the biggest hiatus in American television since the 2020 pandemic, and the biggest work slowdown for the WGA since the strike that took place in 2007-2008.
Since its beginning more than a month ago, the writers stopped working on their ongoing projects, causing the delay in most major projects on TV and in film production.
A lot of stars had already revealed their support towards writers. And it seems like some people are still able to find something good in the whole situation.
One of those people is Caleb McLaughlin, who portrays Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things. He thinks that the strike that is causing the delay of the show's season 5 can actually benefit the series.
As he told BET during one of his recent interviews, he actually supports the writers and admits that the delay may give the show's creative team some time to come up with new ideas for the final season of Stranger Things.
"I support them 100% and I will now have the time to create my own stuff and work on music. Regarding the fans having to wait a bit for the final season, I will say things happen for a reason.
Maybe this will give us time to brainstorm different ideas for the new season or maybe introduce a new character," he said in the interview.
Initially the last season of the show was scheduled to begin the filming process in May, but due to the strike it was moved further and even put on hold. But what fans can expect from the final season of the show?
Though Stranger Things season 4 ended with the Hawkins heroes having successfully taken down Vecna in an ingenious plan, their joy was cut short by Max's quick death, which caused the Upside Down to rip into the real world.
So now it seems like it will be a while before we see the Hawkins gang take on Vecna one last time.
