Season 4 was definitely not Mike Wheeler's best time.

Finn Wolfhard's character was not the most empathetic character in season four of Stranger Things, and fans are still not over the fact that he never realized that his best friend Will Byers was struggling with his feelings — even when Will basically confessed them right to his face.

Now that the fandom is in its Mike-hating era, there may be a character on the show who can relate. According to fans, Jonathan gets more and more reasons to hate Mike with every season of Stranger Things.

Think about it. Not only is Mike the guy that Jonathan's brother Will seems to be in love with, but he is also the boyfriend of his younger sister and the little brother of Jonathan's own girlfriend, Nancy.

This is too much Mike Wheeler for anyone to handle.

Of course, Will's struggle in an apparent love triangle doesn't help Jonathan make peace with Mike. In Season 4, right after Will's emotional scene with his brother at Surfer Boy Pizza, Jonathan looks pretty angry when he sees Mike, who is (as always) clueless.

Many fans are tentatively hoping that Jonathan and Mike will have a little showdown next season, even though the Hawkins gang clearly has bigger problems to deal with since Vecna is still alive and the town has been devastated by an Upside Down earthquake.

However, the drama between Mike and the Byers family is not going anywhere. At this point, even Finn Wolfhard himself isn't afraid to shade his own character for the way he treated Will in season 4.

It's unclear if the fifth and final season of Stranger Things will directly address the apparent love triangle between Mike, Will and Eleven, or if it will resolve it in some other way, up to ignoring it entirely.

The release date of Stranger Things 5 is still unknown. But it's possible that we'll get it sometime in 2024 or even later in 2025.
