Even if you are an OG character, it doesn't mean you will get a fair treatment.

As Stranger Things is heading to the series finale, fans are urging the creators to make it up to one of the most important characters in the show: Caleb McLaughlin's Lucas.

Fans feel that Lucas has been getting heavily sidelined: something that the fandom is geeting increasingly furious about. In season 4, he appeared to only finish other people's lines and being nothing but a "supporting character" for Max (who is clearly in the spotlight despite not being a part of the gang since season 1).

Still, many people believe that Stranger Things did Lucas Sinclair dirty — way too dirty for someone who is a member of the original Hawkins crew.

"It's even more sad seeing new characters like Robin get more of a storyline then Lucas who's been an OG character," Redditor AdBeautiful9082 said. "[...] I really hope they improve on Lucas character because in the earlier seasons s1-3 he's been my favorite character, but now he's just there to fill in a void."

If anything, Stranger Things only has one season to do Lucas justice. Upcoming season 5 is set to wrap up the story, and the worst thing that could happen, according to fans, is Lucas getting killed off. It would not only be unfair to the character, people argue, but would also fuel the cliché trope of "the black guy getting killed."

Still, there is hope for Lucas fans, as one of the fourth season's "most powerful" moments was him begging for Max not to die. Many people argue that his role in season 4 was important but still too underwhelming. Now that Max is in a coma and Lucas clearly wants to revive their relationship, season 5 has a lot of room for his character to grow... if writers are up for it, of course.
