It seems Walter White got lucky to die before the apocalypse.

The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad are two of the most popular TV shows of the past decade, both originally aired by AMC.

While they are very different in terms of genre and tone, for many years there’s been a theory that suggests that they might actually be connected in some way. Even Netflix shared the theory on their official YouTube channel. Let’s find out what all the fuss is about.

In the very first season there is a reference to Heisenberg’s infamous product — blue meth. In episode two, when Deryl rifles through his brother Merle’s stash. Among different pill bottles, you can clearly see blue crystal meth at the bottom of the bag.

In the same season Glenn escapes from the town driving a red Dodge Challenger. Interestingly, it is the same model that Walter bought in Breaking Bad. The theory suggests that Glenn was a salesman who sold the car to Walter.

In season 4, the group was divided, and Daryl and Beth were left together. During one of their conversations, Daryl mentions Merle’s dealer.

His description is actually fitting none other than Jesse Pinkman, especially given that Daryl also quoted his words including the famous “B*tch” that Jesse used to say all the time.

Another connection was found in Fear The Walking Dead. One of the episodes of Breaking Bad starts with a song about Heisenberg in Spanish. The same song, Negro Y Azul by Los Cuates de Sinaloa, can be heard in season 3 of FTWD at the bazaar.

While this theory is certainly intriguing, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Those are mostly easter eggs, some of which confirmed to be such.

However, it's always fun to speculate about these kinds of things, and the idea that two shows are connected in some way is certainly a compelling one.
