Spoiler: Is Stellan Skarsgård In 'Thor: Love And Thunder'?
Scientist Erik Selvig played a huge role in the first two 'Thor' movies, but was conspicuously absent in the third installment.
Stellan Skarsgård was one of the first international stars to join the MCU in 2011 as an Earth scientist trying to understand the phenomenon of Thor and Asgard. Though his character never had superhuman powers, Marvel fandom loved him, lamenting his absence in other MCU films. And now that Natalie Portman has returned to her role in 'Love and Thunder', fans are wondering if Skarsgård will appear in the upcoming blockbuster as well.
Thanks to some plot leaks posted on Reddit, we finally know if Selvig will return to the Chris Hemsworth-led franchise, and the news is pretty positive. Selvig will appear in a small role trying to find a cure for Jane Foster's cancer, with viewers apparently getting to see him on a computer screen during one of the conferences. Yes, his role will be as small as possible, but fans are still happy for even a small glimpse of the beloved character.
It is not yet known whether Skarsgård will once again appear in the MCU properly, but given the actor's busy schedule, packed with international productions, auteur films and supporting roles in Hollywood blockbusters, it looks like the Swedish actor is doing fine without Disney money.
'Thor: Love and Thunder ' will arrive to cinemas around U.S. on July 7, 2022.
