Some of the fans’ guesses may have turned out to be partially true.

So Help Me Todd isn’t coming back to TV screens with another season, and fans’ own investigations prove that the whole cancellation fuss has nothing to do with the show’s ratings.

Ever since news broke about CBS’ decision to scrap So Help Me Todd for another potentially profitable series to fill in the space, the show’s lovers have had sleepless nights diving deep into every possible reason for the cancellation and even starting a whole campaign led by a petition that already has quite a lot of supporters.

Now that there’s no possible way for So Help Me Todd to come back, the series’ leading actress opened up about something she’d been aware of amidst all the fuss.

In one of her recent interviews, Marcia Gay Harden, who portrays Todd’s mother Margaret on the show, spilled some tea about behind-the-scenes events that could’ve potentially led So Help Me Todd to becoming an unfairly ditched series.

The actress revealed that according to what she’d heard, “Paramount is being bought by somebody. We don’t know who and so CBS had numbers to reach and whatever the mystery goes behind it, why they chose our show to go rather than another one, we don’t know.”

Harden’s words can now be seen as some kind of confirmation for one of the most viral theories about So Help Me Todd’s cancellation. As soon as CBS dropped a shocking announcement, fans of the show across the world took it to social media to discuss possible reasons behind such a decision.

Many of them claimed that unlike many other TV series, So Help Me Todd couldn’t be scrapped that easily just because of its ratings as throughout two years of its run the show had quite impressive results, if we talk about its numbers.

Despite that, So Help Me Todd still couldn’t stand a chance as much stronger competitors were in CBS’ favor, and the network’s tight schedule eventually wasn’t able to fit in everything fans wanted.

Given that the show’s second season ended on a big cliffhanger, this all looks even more disheartening than upon the cancellation announcement itself.
