There's only so much hatred a third-party can take for nearly breaking up a fan-favorite couple.

The Office is a show that gives the world the perfect workplace romance. Frankly, Jim and Pam's story may be the exception to the rule, as workplace romance is a dangerous thing in real life.

Well, not just in real life. The same show had a lot of different relationships in the office that didn't work out so well. Take Kelly and Ryan as an excellent example.

But with Pam and Jim, the story worked out great. Well, it took a couple of seasons before they finally realized that they were meant to be together, and no Roy or Karen was going to stop their love from blossoming.

But after their Niagara wedding, life became a dream.

And that dream was interrupted by Brian, the boom-mic guy, in season 9, the one where the couple finally faced their first marital problems. Chris Diamantopoulos did an amazing job portraying the documentary crew member.

But the fans hated the guy from the moment he was first shown on the screen, even though it came in a great way of him protecting Pam from a bully colleague from the warehouse.

Pam and Brian's relationship develops very quickly, add her problems with Jim's new job, and we have the perfect, if unexpected, love triangle.

No wonder the fans immediately started to hate the third guy.

But can you really blame Brian for developing a crush on Beesley? After all, he watched her grow from a shy receptionist to a strong woman.

Still, after years of waiting for Pam and Jim to get together, fans wanted no threats to their relationship.

In an interview with Looper, Chris Diamantopoulos talked about how he felt about all the hatred he received for the character.

He wanted fans to realize that even in the healthiest relationships, there can be some bumps in the road. And that's normal.

He added, "Wake up and smell the reality, folks. In every relationship you have to put in the extra work. Sometimes things go by the wayside, and yeah, that's reality."

Well, wise words for a guy who got so much hatred from fans for being the third wheel in a relationship, right?
