Silo Season Count Finally Revealed by Rebecca Ferguson
Apple TV's sci-fi hit is surely here to stay for a couple more years!
Summary:
Based on a best-selling book trilogy by Hugh Howey, Wool, Silo has been a massive success for Apple TV so far. The sci-fi dystopia was just as huge a hit as sports comedy Ted Lasso and medical comedy Shrinking.
According to Rebecca Ferguson, who portrays Juliette Nichols, Silo has an even brighter future ahead. Thank Howey and his creative flow for that!
Speaking with Collider on Silo, Ferguson went as far as confirming just how many seasons are planned for the show.
"I believe that the show has an ending, and I know when that is. So that's the answer. You will find out when the show is done. To be honest, I don't think it's a secret. The books are the books. It's three books, and the three books are divided into four seasons," she said.
The first season has already gained all the accolades it could; the second season is already shot and will come out soon. Now, per Ferguson, season 3 and 4 are to be greenlit, and "unless any Apple person is gonna jump on," this is the plan for Silo.
Moreover, the actress mentioned that it's possible the last two seasons will be filmed at the same time. This is good news, since it means fans wouldn't have to wait too long for them to come out!
However, Ferguson is not so sure about this particular part, as she notes other things have to be taken into consideration: the filming schedule, the creative decisions, the programming and so on.
Silo's production has been pretty challenging so far. In the interview, Ferguson mentioned how she has to color-coordinate all her scripts because she would sometimes have to film several episodes in one day, meaning she has to jump between actors, directors and storylines. This method, called block shooting, was used in season 1, and the second chapter is no exception.
Silo Season 1 Quick Recap
Silo revolves around a small society confined in a large underground shelter called, well, a silo. Juliette is one of its citizens who, in the wake of several grim events, transfers from her job as a mechanic to being a sheriff.
What starts off as an investigation of murders and handling routine tasks slowly evolves into one huge and creepy conspiracy theory Juliette and the rest of the silo citizens seem to be living in. In order to find the truth, Juliette basically sabotages herself and volunteers to leave the silo and go out.
Going out used to mean death, but since the outside world isn't as toxic and dangerous as the silo government wanted its citizens to believe, Juliette is now up for even more unsettling discoveries. Unsettling discovery number one: her silo wasn't the only one in the vicinity.
When Does Silo Season 2 Come Out?
Season 2 of Silo doesn't yet have a scheduled release date, but it is set for a 2025 premiere. The first season of the sci-fi hit is available for streaming on Apple TV+.
