'She-Hulk' Ep1 Post-Credit Scene Is All About Captain America... in a Really Weird Way
Do you love Captain America as Jennifer Walters loves him?
Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'She-Hulk ' episode 1
'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' has decided to bring those post-credit scenes in… every single episode. The very first episode's post-credit has Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany ) and her cousin Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo ) enjoying a drink or two at a beach bar. And Jennifer, as tipsy as she is, appears to bring up one of the original Avengers… in a pretty flattering yet unsettling way.
It turns out Jennifer believed that Captain America "died a virgin", as, despite doing "so much for this country" he "never got to experience sex". However, Bruce Banner is quick to correct her on that one: according to him, Steve Rogers "lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 on the USO tour".
The new information appears to drive Jennifer crazy: rejoiced, she spread her arms and cries "Captain America fu–", only for a dark screen to interrupt her in a traditional MCU way of censoring bad words.
Fans immediately ruled that the scene was one of the most hilarious things the MCU has ever had, with many people wondering what else we don't know about Steve Rogers. Like… which USO girl was that? Why didn't he "save himself" for Peggy? The whole "meta" aspect of the series, implemented once again brilliantly in the post-credits, is now praised is one of the show's most entertaining qualities.
"1st episode of She-Hulk was fun as hell. I love the meta style of the series. Also best post-credits scene of all time." – @StarlightAndrew
In fact, head writer for 'She-Hulk' Jessica Gao addressed that specific part of the show's storytelling in one of her interviews, saying that Captain America's supposed virginity was one of the hottest topics in the writers' room.
"It would be such a shame that one of the greatest men ever, with that hot a**, could go to his grave having never felt, you know, the loving embrace of a woman," she said.
Well, looks like the injustice has been fixed now that 'She-Hulk' highlighted this important aspect of Steve Rogers' life. Throughout the first episode, Captain America's virginity could not get out of Jennifer's head, but now that she knows the truth, maybe she can move on… or focus on the sex life of any other Avenger.
New episodes of 'She-Hulk' arrive on Disney Plus every Thursday.
