Steve Toussaint, star of the hit fantasy series House of the Dragon, has revealed new details about the upcoming second season.

In a recent interview with Extra, Toussaint hinted at where his character, Corlys Velaryon, aka the Sea Snake, might end up in the upcoming season.

For those unfamiliar with the show, season one followed the events leading up to the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, in which King Viserys I Targaryen (played by Paddy Considine) appointed his daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) as leader of the Black party and eventual heir to the Iron Throne. However, after Viserys' death, Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke ) and her father Otto (Rhys Evans) of the Greens worked to ensure that Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), son of Alicent and Viserys, became king of Westeros.

It will be interesting to see where Toussaint's character falls in the midst of all this political intrigue in the upcoming season. Here's what the actor himself had to say about it:

"I think pretty much, as is indicated at the end of this last season, is the fact that he decided whatever I may think about Rhaenyra personally, that she is the rightful heir to the throne. The land grab the Hightowers have done is treacherous, and they need to be made to pay for that. Plus… the fact is my grandson has been killed. Even though we know he's not my grandson, but he's my grandson. So, I think that's kind of where he's at, and that has to be paid for, said Toussaint.

Rhaenyra, desperate to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict, was left with no choice but to join the fight with the Greens after Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) tragically killed her son Lucerys (Elliot Grihault). Despite the turmoil, Corlys (Steve Toussaint) and his wife Rhaenys (Eve Best) remained loyal to Rhaenyra's cause. In an interview with Extra, Toussaint revealed that Corlys will be deeply affected by the loss of his grandson, even though he knows that Lucerys is not his son Laenor's (John MacMillan) biological child.

Unfortunately, fans of Dragon House will have to wait a while for new episodes. Season 2 is set to begin filming in early 2023 and likely won't be released until at least 2024.
