Scrubs: Where's Zack Bruff and Other Cast Members 14 Years After the Show Ended?
Well, all of them are doing pretty good.
Scrubs ran from 2001 to 2010 and became a cult phenomenon not only in the US but around the world.
At first glance, it could be mistaken for a typical sitcom, but in fact Bill Lawrence's project is much deeper. It's not just about the unique combination of comedy and drama: Scrubs also raised controversial and profound questions that other shows didn't dare to ask.
1. Zack Braff – J. D.
For his performance as J. D., the actor received three Golden Globe nominations. Braff, who played the main character in the series, did not appear only in the last season, when it was decided to reboot Scrubs, changing the location and part of the cast.
Zach's career is successful, and he not only acts as an actor, but also directs films – for example he made Garden State and Wish I Was Here. In 2021, Braff received an Emmy nomination for his work on the Ted Lasso episode Biscuits. In recent years, the actor starred in such films as Cheaper by the Dozen, A Little White Lie, and Moonshot.
2. Donald Faison – Christopher Turk
The actor who played J. D.'s best friend Turk has made a career out of acting in TV series. Donald played Booster Gold in the DC series Legends of Tomorrow. In recent years, he has also appeared in the series Emergence and The L Word: Generation Q.
Donald does not have many leading roles – the most major one was in The Exes, but the sitcom ended back in 2015. Faison also acted in full-length movies, but also in episodic roles, for example in Little Evil and Kick-Ass 2.
Donald is still friends with Braff – they host a podcast together called Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
3. Sarah Chalke – Elliot Reid
Sarah Chalke, who played J. D.'s friend Elliot, with whom the main character ends and then renews a love relationship, starred in many TV series after Scrubs. Among them are How I Met Your Mother, Mad Love, and How to Live with Your Parents.
The actress has starred in several feature films such as Mother's Day and The Wrong Missy, and has also participated in voice acting for animated series – she is the voice of Beth in Rick and Morty.
4. John C. McGinley – Dr. Cox
John C. McGinley, known before the show for his role as Sergeant O'Neill in Oliver Stone's Platoon, played the slightly crazy but extremely charismatic Dr. Cox, who was the most popular character with the viewers.
After Scrubs, the actor did not act so often, but he got his roles in feature films – The Belko Experiment, 42, Alex Cross; and TV series – C*A*U*G*H*T and Genius. McGinley played the main role in the horror series Stan Against Evil.
5. Judy Reyes – Carla Espinosa
After Scrubs, the actress who played Turk's wife, Carla Espinosa, participated in the filming of many TV series: High Potential, The Horror of Dolores Roach, The Good Wife, Dr. Death, Jane the Virgin, and iZombie.
Reyes received a regular role in Devious Maids, which was released from 2013 to 2016. In 2022, Judy played in the horror movie Smile.
