The Scrubs creator says it is only a matter of time before the project comes to fruition

Despite the fact that Scrubs, a sitcom TV series created by Bill Lawrence, ended more than a decade ago, the show is still fondly remembered by fans and will forever be one of the best TV shows of the 2000s.

The show revolved around the employees of the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital, with the main character being Dr. John Michael Dorian, or simply J.D., portrayed by Zach Braff.

He and his best friend Turk, played by Donald Faison, got into all kinds of comedic situations throughout the show's run, eventually earning the status of one of the most iconic friendships in television history.

The show ended in 2010 after nine seasons.

After it was revealed at the ATX TV Festival cast reunion in June 2022 that there were plans for a collaborative project in the future, there have been no updates on the matter until now.

Bill Lawrence, the show's creator, confirmed that while the process hasn't started yet, it's only a matter of time before the reunion project happens.

"I think it's inevitable that it happens. The joke of it with us is the first time that six months go by that we don't hang out, we'll end up doing a Scrubs reunion," Lawrence said in an interview with Variety.

He also shared that the cast members hang out with each other all the time:

"That's part of the infectious vibe of some of our shows – that people end up sincerely enjoying each other and hanging out anyway."

Zach Braff directed an episode of Lawrence's new show, Shrinking, and Neil Flynn, who played the janitor on Scrubs, made a guest appearance on the show.

Fans can't wait to see what's in store for them. They are fascinated by how the cast has managed to maintain their relationships over the years and how their genuine chemistry has only enhanced their on-screen performances.

"Its one of the few shows where there are no "bad eggs" in the cast. They all still love each other, many echo their characters relationships [in fact]. You could put a movie together without any drama or people not being invited back. It will suck without Sam Lloyd though," Reddit user starsandbribes said.

The nature of the project has not yet been revealed, although it is speculated to be a feature film.
