Say Goodbye to One Chicago: Fire, Med, and PD Will Be Gone for a While
Unfortunately, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, all Dick Wolf's shows are put on hold for an unknown period of time. On the network, they were replaced by other series.
As the Alliance of Producers decided to ignore the demands of the Writer's and Actor's Guilds, both organizations went on strike. We're talking over 180,000 industry professionals unable to proceed with their work — hence, hundreds of TV and big-screen projects put on hold. Hollywood has come to a complete halt.
It does sound a bit distant right until you turn on your TV after work and realize that your favorite series is gone from the network's schedule and was replaced with some dumb old program you'd never watch without notice. That's when you come to realize that the double strike will come for all the enjoyers of good old cinematic stories.
For all the good Chicago Fire, Med, and PD fans out there, this moment comes now: all three shows were forced to stop shooting and delay further seasons. Dick Wolf's One Chicago, alongside Law & Order, is now halted until the strike is over... Which is pretty much indefinitely at this point since no one has a clue when the producers will come to their senses.
Instead of the One Chicago shows, the network will be streaming America's Got Talent and People's Choice Country Awards in the last days of September. Starting in October, One Chicago's slots in the schedule will be filled by Quantum Leap and Magnum P.I. The Law & Order franchise will have a similar fate with all its shows replaced.
It's generally disappointing that Dick Wolf's shows are to disappear from the radars for now, but we decided to give you something positive at the end — and came up with one single idea that put a smile on our faces.
Perhaps, the halt will give Taylor Kinney just enough time to finish his real-life business and finally put the firefighter's suit back on? There's not much hope here, but we take it!
