Rowena is Back! Ruth Connell Joins The Winchesters Penultimate Episode
Supernatural fans, brace yourselves because Rowena is once again here to slay!
According to EW, Ruth Connell is set to reprise her role as the wickedly wonderful witch in The Winchesters ' penultimate episode. If you're not familiar with Rowena, let us give you a quick rundown: she's a natural-born witch with immense power who has been outwitting all who wish her ill since the 17th century – even death itself. So, you know, just your average girl-next-door with some snark and a soft spot for our favorite hunter brothers.
After Rowena sacrificed herself in the final season of Supernatural, viewers were shocked to see her return later in season 15 as the ruler of Hell. But then again, if there's one thing we've learned from this show, it's that death is just a minor inconvenience for these characters (except for Dean, apparently. Too soon?)
With The Winchesters taking place before the events of Supernatural, it's unclear what role Rowena will play in the prequel series. Perhaps we'll see her in the past, meddling in Mary's affairs? It's anyone's guess, really.
What's certain, though, is that Supernatural fans are already buzzing with excitement on social media, with some speculating that this could mean other fan favorites will also make an appearance. One fan tweeted, "If we're getting Rowena, can we get Mark Sheppard next? Bring back our King of Hell!" Another fan chimed in, "I'm hoping for a Bobby cameo. I miss that old curmudgeon."
The Winchesters has already seen the return of Richard Speight Jr. as Loki and a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo from Rob Benedict (who may or may not have been Chuck?). It's clear that the show is not holding back when it comes to bringing back beloved characters from the Supernatural universe.
Get ready to tune in on February 28th for The Winchesters penultimate episode. It's time to see what kind of trouble Rowena will stir up this time. And hey, if we're lucky, maybe we'll get to see her teaming up with Carlos (a girl can dream, okay?).
