Rings of Power Star Triggers Entire LotR Fandom By New Galadriel & Sauron Update
A new hint about the events of season 2 made the fans lose any hope for improvement.
Production on the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is currently in full swing, and fans are wondering if the highly controversial series will improve after the rather cold reception of the first season.
However, it seems that the chances of that happening are slim, as a recent comment regarding the story of season 2 has once again enraged them.
Morfydd Clark, who portrays Galadriel, recently seemed to confirm her future relationship with Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers.
When asked during a Canneseries interview whether Halbrand (as whom Sauron disguised himself) will try to get her to join him again, the actress said that since he's already tried, she doesn't see "why'd he necessarily stop now."
Clark also added that she's excited "about where they'll go together," which scares her.
While some hope that it is simply a misdirection by the actress, as this part of Galadriel and Sauron's story was seemingly concluded with the latter's reveal and there is nothing more to explore, others are furious as the show "increasingly resembles fanfic."
They argue that Amazon should cancel the series altogether, as it twists the source material without any respect, and given the initial backlash, they believe it is better to put the show out of its misery.
Others, however, make the interesting point that since the show is already a far cry from the original, it might be better for the writers to go all the way with it, because no matter how canon-breaking their relationship is, it would be curious to see.
The release date for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 has not yet been announced.
