With all the complicated personalities that the characters have, it’s difficult to avoid drama even in a sci-fi series.

Summary:

  • Resident Alien ’s latest episode is set to push two major relationships to their edges while also saving another bond at the same time.
  • The episode unveils some things that are heating up between Harry and Heather and then Asta and D’Arcy.
  • Though the show keeps the fans away from too much drama by helping sheriff Mike become aware of his issues and get determined about righting the wrong.

Resident Alien’s season 3 has been on air since mid-February and the sixth episode, Bye Bye Birdie, unfolds some new dramatic plot twists — concerning mainly the characters’ relationships.

While fans are dumbfounded by how two bonds in particular have fractured, they may also be pleasantly surprised by how the show makes another bond escape a seemingly inevitable fall.

Firstly, the episode unveils a major betrayal as it shows the main character Harry being all head over heels for Heather, the Avian alien, without realizing yet that she was in fact sent by the Greys — Harry’s rival aliens.

All that Heather is up to in this case is getting Harry’s DNA so that the Greys could create his clone; but simultaneously all that Harry is up to is planning his life with Heather, whether it’s on Earth or on another planet.

And even though Heather doesn’t want that obscure future for Harry, she still has an obligation to prioritize her own life — which forces her to make a choice in favor of herself.

The episode shows yet another big relationship crisis — this time between Asta and D’Arcy. Two best friends’ mutual understanding has been jeopardized by Harry calling them out for being immature, selfish and toxic implying that these are the reasons why both can’t find themselves a mate for life.

Thus, the argument with Harry causes some insecurities coming to light and brings Asta and D’Arcy to even fiercer arguments between them.

Nonetheless, the show seems to try to make it up to the fans for revealing a lot of drama by fixing another significant relationship. Now it’s sheriff Mike who’s in the center of attention — and he finally owns up to the consequences of his toxic masculinity.

The latter was the reason why he pushed away his girlfriend who was just trying to help while Mike trained himself to never ask for any help. Now that he’s aware of his problem, he’s very serious about winning his girlfriend back.

The seventh episode will be out today, on March 27 — so there may be some new drama pending.
