Picking a character to hate is actually an easy task.

Chicago fire introduced its fans to many characters throughout the course of 11 seasons. And lots of them became true fan-favorites in no time.

Although, as it happens quite often in this genre of a TV show, the cast of Chicago Fire was always changing. New characters arrived, and the old ones were written off. Most often because the actor just didn’t want to continue working on the project.

But there is another reason for an actor’s departure from the show: if their character is simply unlikable. That happened for example to one particular character, Peter Mills.

This rookie only lasted for 3 seasons and was forced out of the show after he faced a lot of hate from the fandom.

The thing is, the viewers just found Mills really annoying mainly because his behavior in the show was really childish and immature most of the time.

“Am I the only person that finds Peter Mills annoying? He comes across very childish. He doesn’t think like a grown adult, he holds weird grudges and he’s so stubborn. He’s just really immature,” Redditor GravitySaleswoman said.

Many other fans agreed with that thought, although there still were some of them who wanted to cut him a slight pass for several reasons.

For example, his inability to let things go could have been connected with his father’s death when he was a kid, or actually the non-stop manipulations from Gabby.

However, despite the fact that fans gave Mills a hard time, he was even a main character for a while. With that kind of personality! Still, it didn’t last too long (or else the fandom would have rioted).
