Regé-Jean Page's Family Had the Best Reaction To Steamy Bridgerton Scenes
Actor Regé-Jean Page, best known for his role as Simon Basset in the hit period drama Bridgerton, sent temperatures soaring with his risqué on-screen moments with Phoebe Dynevor's Daphne Bridgerton.
While it may have been an exciting viewing experience for most, some watched it unwittingly with their parents, and it got a little awkward. But if it's embarrassing for some viewers, how did Page's own family react when they saw the steamier scenes he acted in?
If you've seen Bridgerton or at least heard of it, you'll know that the show doesn't exactly hold back when it comes to spicing things up, with numerous steamy sex scenes gracing our screens throughout the episodes. And in season 1, it was Page who was at the center of it all when we watched him and Daphne get hot and heavy – and all over the estate, no less.
But while Page's raunchy moments may have raised the viewers' pulses, how did his family members feel when they saw him butt naked on the screen? Well, they actually had the best reaction.
The Bridgerton star revealed to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that his family took it pretty well, considering the circumstances.
Page said, "You can't really faze my family. If you come up through theater, they see stuff, and they don't even blink anymore."
He also added that there were warnings with flashing red light emojis on the family WhatsApp group. However, some of his cousins didn't get the memo and weren't aware of what was coming when they sat down to watch the drama.
During Page's appearance on The Graham Norton Show, he revealed, "So they're watching the show and I got a very stern message in my Instagram DMs just going, 'There really needs to be a cousin warning.'" Let's just say they had to prepare a lot of strategic cups of tea during the episodes.
Page also revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that no one was prepared enough, including himself, despite being there.
"I think people were grateful for the intensity of the romantic aspects of Bridgerton; I'm not sure how grateful I was to watch it for myself. It was overwhelming. But I think people were looking to be overwhelmed. My family doesn't want to be overwhelmed by my backside, specifically, too often, but they'll take it on this occasion because everyone seems to be terribly happy," he added.
And that's completely understandable. Considering how explicit the scenes were, it's safe to say any actor would feel awkward watching themselves performing them on-screen – not to mention the family!
