It seems like not every K-drama is worth watching.

The South Korean industry has become very popular over the past few decades and there are many reasons for this. The fans of every genre can find their favorite thing to watch, because there are so many thrillers, horrors, even fantasy or sci-fi dramas that are definitely worth watching.

However, there are still many shows that have not become popular among the audience, and even though they didn't like these series, the viewers couldn't help but watch them until the end… only to regret it after the last episode.

It's probably a kind of guilty pleasure for many fans, but if you don't want to waste your time on such K-dramas, here's the list of five unworthy shows, according to Redditors.

1. She Would Never Know

Many viewers get annoyed when the writers present totally unlikeable characters, especially when it comes to female leads (surprisingly). Fans feel no need to root for a couple in a rom-com when there seems to be almost no chemistry between them. This was the case with She Would Never Know, as the disappointed viewers mention. The weird mix of cosmetics brand’s marketing and bizarre romance in this one just didn’t work.

2. Strong Girl Nam Soon

The series revolves around a super strong young woman who discovers that her mother and grandmother also possess inhuman powers. However, viewers felt that the series was stuffed with way too many unnecessary side characters who stole the opportunity to develop the main character's personality.

“What a load of NOTHING. This show had a billion side plots and random characters, not leaving enough time to develop our main couple. My disappointment is immeasurable. I only completed it because I'd seen 8/16 eps, and the production value was good so it was easy on the eyes - plus increased speed and skip buttons are a blessing!” Redditor hassratsran said.

3. Sweet Home (Season 2)

Oh the challenges of trying to make a sequel worthy of its predecessor! As much as the audience adored season 1 of this K-drama, the second season ended up being a huge disappointment. Mainly because the favorite characters from the first chapter weren't there.

“Overall I was so upset with the direction they took for this season & I missed what Season 1 had. They had us waiting 3 years for this? I finished the show in a day and a half due to all the fast forwarding. Truly disappointing but I'm hoping S3 will be better,” Redditor sakuradelluna said.

4. Doona!

There are also some shows that weren't badly written, actually had quite compelling storylines and even likable characters. Doona, for example, had all chances to become a fan-favorite, with the perfect cast and unlikely narrative, but ended up as a disappointment.

“I wish I hadn’t watched Doona. I know it was a short one, but I still don’t know what the point of it was. I felt nothing for any of the characters and had a hard time rooting for anyone,” Redditor OnlyGotThisMoment said.

Still, if you’re ready to give the story about a student and a retired idol a chance, do consider that Doona! is only 9 episodes long – even if it turns out to be a waste of time, you won’t have to waste too much.

5. The Beauty Inside

A sure-fire recipe to make fans feel bad? A show starting off really great and promising, and then just getting worse and worse with every episode. Viewers say that at some point in The Beauty Inside, the writers just got so lazy that they abandoned all efforts to develop the characters at all.

Many fans mentioned that they had made several attempts to watch the show, dropping it and picking it up again several times. In the end, they just decided to stick around to see how the finale would turn out, only to find that the storyline and tone of the show had changed to absolute nonsense.
