Surely, writers would explain her sexuality more, if that was the case. Or would they?

Grey's Anatomy has gathered a major fanbase over the 18 years it's been on air.

Of course, many viewers came and stayed to see the character development of Meredith Grey, who first started out as an intern and grew up to become the Chief of General Surgery.

The show always kept the audience's attention wishing to see more of the characters' life, whether working or personal. However, many years later fans are still able to find little details which were not seen earlier.

The conversation about Meredith's possible bisexuality started on Reddit, when one of the fans noticed the conversation Meredith had with Dr. Nick Marsh on episode 17 of season 14.

There she mentions staying with her girlfriend and two older women in Sardinia.

This moment could be easily swept under the rug, however, another detail that catched fans' attention were the subtitles, where "girlfriend" was spelled exactly the way it means in a relationship.

Of course, the subtitles are not the most trustworthy source for such deep information about a character's sexuality. After all, "girlfriend" could also mean… well, pretty much any friend of hers, who was a girl.

Although some viewers admitted to thinking there always has been something going on between Meredith and Sadie, everyone seems to pretty much agree that nothing probably happened.

"I feel like if she were bi they would have made a huger deal out of it," Redditor cicilili33 said, implying we would probably see more of that side of Meredith's love life, if her bisexuality was really the case.

Thankfully, over the years Grey's Anatomy did a good job with LBTQ representation, so there are plenty of characters to explore the struggles of self-expression and exploration.

Tune in to ABC on Thursdays to not miss a new episode.
