Reddit Theory Suggests a Creepy Pinocchio Connection to Other Del Toro Films
Guillermo del Toro is not exactly the director to create the most light-hearted movies in the world, but it looks like his bizarre film experiments could be connected way more than we thought.
With Guillermo del Toro 's Pinocchio already dubbed Disney 's darkest movie (because of course), Reddit has found a chilling connection between the director's new movie and the rest of his portfolio.
Pinocchio introduces several new creatures, among which are the sphynx and the sprite — and one Reddit theory suggests they might be linked to del Toro's Pale Man, Faun From Pan's Labyrinth, as well as the Angel of Death from Hellboy 2.
According to the theory, all these are "the same species of other dimensional creatures." And if you think about it, it adds up.
"The Pale Man, The Angel of Death,The "Fairy",and the Sphinx all have eyes where you wouldn't normally find them mostly on wings, and they all are in an underworld-like place. And there is a separate theory that Ofelia from Pan's Labyrinth is The Angel of Death from Hellboy 2, after sacrificing herself and grew certain attributes of The Pale Man and the Faun is also seen in the background of Pinocchio," Redditor ConditionReady9218 suggests.
Pinocchio is a must-see for those who like dark vibes and creepy creatures. The movie has Tilda Swinton's Death in the form a creature that looks like a lion with a feminine human face, snakes instead of tails and goat horns. Her sister Wood Sprite is all covered in eyeballs, which just screams Hellboy 2.
Del Toro's Pinocchio is available for streaming on Netflix, if you dare to check out the darkest movie Disney has ever produced.
