Reddit Perfectly Sums Up Grey's Anatomy Worst Love Story in One Post
This would get any doctor fired immediately, but not from Seattle Grace Hospital.
In the 19 seasons that Grey's Anatomy has been on the air, some love stories have raised eyebrows.
Some simply lacked chemistry, some felt forced, some were deemed unhealthy by fans, and some were perceived as substitutes for characters from the show.
However, none of these storylines can compare to the one from the early seasons, which is still considered the worst by the majority of viewers.
Grey's Anatomy Hilarious Age Blunders That Are Beyond Any Explaining
Izzie, one of the original interns at Seattle Grace Hospital, portrayed by Katherine Heigl, fell in love with her patient Denny in the middle of the show's second season.
Although such relationships would be inappropriate within the walls of the hospital, it is not the case for the audience to hate them so much.
The story, which seemed very romantic to the younger fans of Grey's Anatomy in 2006, has aged like milk and is now just distasteful and illogical.
"She knew him for like four days and he kept inappropriately hitting on her. Then he died and they started having ghost sex. True love," Redditor starmiebucks said, summarizing the storyline jokingly, but in a very accurate way.
Besides the fact that Izzie risked her career for the man she only knew in a hospital bed was out of character, fans couldn't help but notice all the creepy comments Denny made while hitting on her.
The morals may have changed over the years, but his outright disrespect for her celibacy decision is enough for fans to never want to see him again.
If the show ever aimed for reality, Izzie would be fired immediately for everything she's done for Denny.
From constantly manipulating her patient to cutting off his LVAD, she has done everything wrong and never faced any serious consequences, which only adds to the audience's annoyance.
Fortunately, many years have passed and both Izzie and Denny are no longer part of Grey's Anatomy, so we can enjoy new episodes and hope that they make a little more sense.
Tune in to ABC on Thursdays to not miss a new love story being born.
