It is always disastrous when someone's ego gets in the way of the creative process.

The beef between Yellowstone 's two big names has been stealing the headlines for several weeks now.

Many have already shared their concerns about the future of the series engulfed the Sheridan-Costner Drama.

Previously there were some rumors about Yellowstone potentially ending after its fifth season. And the tension between the showrunner and the main character was allegedly to blame.

However, the reasons for bad blood between Taylor Sheridan, the series' creator, and Kevin Costner, its main star, were largely unknown.

Well, according to Daily Mail, it turns out due to the huge success that his series was, its showrunner somehow developed a "God complex" on the set.

And that caused friction not only between him and the lead star, but also some other actors of the show.

It was also mentioned that Costner, who recently won a Golden Globe for his performance as John Dutton and is an executive producer of Yellowstone, felt that the show was going in a direction that was not in line with their original vision.

But it fell on deaf ears, according to the report. Taylor Sheridan suggested that Kostner should just "stick to acting" and not make any statements about the future of the show.

We can only imagine how insulted Costner felt after hearing that. After all, he did put a lot of time and effort into the show and his character.

So it looks like the behind-the-scenes drama in Yellowstone season 5 is not all about Costner's efforts to alter his filming schedule, but also about Sheridan's alleged "god complex."

It remains to be seen how it all affects the future of the series, which has already been criticized by fans for "lazy writing" and lack of compelling storytelling.
