Queen Charlotte: Expect Even More Naughty Scenes in Bridgerton Spinoff

Spring is upon us, and the Bridgerton universe has finally been set in motion. Netflix recently officially announced the release date for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and shared a new teaser that immediately sparked a great deal of interest from the show's massive fan base.

With some very hot moments, the teaser, which premiered during a recent global fan event, showed that young Charlotte's story will be no less steamy than any of the Bridgertons' love arcs.

And the stars attending the event, confirmed that more intimate scenes that Shondaland is known for are in store for fans.

During the discussion, iconic showrunner Shonda Rhimes, who joined the event via Zoom, explained that the main goal of the spinoff is to explore the origins of the beloved Bridgerton universe and share the struggles and romantic stories of the young women who inhabit that universe.

Of course, the story will focus primarily on Charlotte and George's relationship and the feelings they experience as they are forced to marry someone they have only met for the first time in their lives.

Fan-favorite cast members Golda Rosheuvel and Adjoa Andoh, who play Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury, respectively, in the original Netflix show, shared that the young actors' performances in the upcoming spinoff have given their characters new depths and sides that felt "enriching."

They expressed the hope that Bridgerton fans would also find the experience of delving into the past of the beloved characters exciting. And how could they not?

With the inside info revealed by the actresses, fans are sure to enjoy the emotional rollercoaster the spinoff has in store. Apparently, there will be a greater focus on exploring the emotional depth and navigating the characters' feelings, but viewers won't be bored.

On the contrary, according to Andoh, they will have plenty of steamy scenes to drool over.

"There's less structuring of who's with who and what's happening, it's more about how you respond to those circumstances. There are more intimate scenes, and there's a cross-fertilization," the actress promised.

A "cross-fertilization" does sound intriguing, and it is no surprise that fans can hardly wait for the new chapter in the Bridgerton universe to be released. Fortunately, this will happen quite soon, in just over two months, on May 4th.
