Two great sitcoms decades apart. The only thing they ever shared was the network they aired on (at least, after Brooklyn Nine-Nine moved to NBC). What else?

Both shows have talented casts that made us fall in love with the characters. One of the main couples on Friends is Chandler and Monica, and they are easily the most adorable.

Their dynamic is unmatched: Chandler is this easy-going goofball, Monica is the doing-things-by-the-book perfectionist, and they just make sense together.

Remind you of anyone? Jake and Amy on Brooklyn Nine-Nine are basically Chandler and Monica put in the 99th Precinct. Jake definitely shares Chandler’s sarcastic sense of humor and immaturity, and the only person who loves rules and pleasing people just as much as Monica does is Amy. You know we are right.

The couples did have slightly different love stories. Peraltiago had more of an enemies-to-lovers trope going for them, while Mondler had to progress from besties to lovers. Still, their motivations and backstories resemble each other!

By the way, there is one adorable fact that further connects the two shows. Both couples got married on the same day – May 15 (but 17 years apart). Chandler and Monica tied the knot in 2001, and Jake and Amy got hitched in 2018.

The similarities don’t end there. Both Peraltiago and Mondler have two kids. Chandler and Monica adopt their twins, Jack and Erica, in season 10 (after finding out that they can’t conceive naturally).

Jack and Amy have both children the traditional way. Their first son, Mac, is born in season 7, and at the end of season 8, we learn that Amy is pregnant with a girl, who they name Rosa.

By the way, Peraltiago’s first son, Mac, is named after John McClane, a character from Die Hard, which happens to be both Jake’s and Chandler’s favorite movie.

Anyway, we are happy for the two couples however similar or different their stories might be. All that matters is that the right people have found each other. This goofy-guy-and-nerdy-girl scenario works for a reason – and the reason is that they are fascinating to watch!
