Just like the Hydra, the most corrupt and downright evil faction in the Fallout universe made a subtle return in Prime Video’s TV show. What does it mean?

Summary:

  • In the Fallout universe, the Enclave is the most inhumane and vile faction, notorious for its human experimentation, slavery, and countless murders.
  • The Enclave was supposed to be defeated 16 prior to Prime Video ’s TV show’s events, but the series showed this faction still alive and kicking.
  • The next-gen update for Fallout 4 also supported this claim, implying that the Enclave may yet play an important part in Fallout 5 or Fallout Season 2.

Amid some Fallout: New Vegas fans claiming that Prime Video’s TV show tried to “retcon” the game’s events as non-existent (which it didn’t) and others trying to explain how this isn’t true, many missed out on one actually huge revelation the series made: the most vile faction in the Fallout universe is still alive and well!

The Enclave Is Downright Monstrous and Evil

The Fallout video games often allow players to join even the most questionable factions, whether it’s the slave-trading and human-crucifying Legion in Fallout: New Vegas, murderous and power-scheming Institute in Fallout 4, or any other organization that rejects the morals of the old America in favor of survivalism.

But one faction has always been so vile and corrupt that players had to fight it whenever it made an appearance. The Enclave, the scum of the Old World.

The Enclave is a faction that claims to be the continuation of the good ol’ US but is, in fact, the Deep State that took over by killing other government officials during the War. Its countless atrocities, including but not limited to human experimentation, unprovoked murders of civilians, slavery, racism, social Darwinism, and many more, made it the most vile and despised faction that always poses as the antagonist.

Fallout the TV Show Brought the Enclave Back

Presumably, the Enclave was defeated in the finale of Fallout 3, 16 years prior to the events of Prime Video’s TV show. However, as we saw in Doctor Siggi Wilzig’s backstory, the Enclave is still around — and it’s thriving, with secret facilities, laboratories, armed forces, and the continuation of their inhumane experiments.

Furthermore, Fallout 4’s next-gen update that was recently released following Fallout the TV show’s success, added several Enclave encounters throughout the map, supporting the claim that this terrifying organization is, in fact, still alive and kicking.

For the Fallout universe, this is huge. This revelation effectively means that in Fallout 5, the Enclave may once again return as the primary antagonist — or even as a playable faction! It could also play an important role in the further seasons of Prime Video’s TV show, especially since Doctor Wilzig stole an important tech from them.
