Phoebe Waller-Bridge And Jonathan Bailey Share One ‘Dirty, Filthy’ Habit
What Fleabag and Anthony Bridgedrton can have in common?
Summary:
- Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jonathan Bailey are best known for their separate projects, Fleabag and Bridgerton.
- However, the professional connection between the two creatives began in 2016, when Bailey was cast in Waller-Bridge's TV show Crashing.
- The two actors reunited for Interview Magazine and found a secret habit that unites them.
Both Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jonathan Bailey have made themselves quite big names in the industry during the last decade.
While Waller-Bridge managed to speak to young women’s hearts through her heartbreaking yet hilarious womanhood experience Fleabag, Bailey captivated the viewers’ attention by breathing life into Bridgerton’s charismatic viscount Anthony. Despite the difference in genres and approaches, the two of them are undoubtedly masters of their craft.
Although their 2016’s collaboration on 6-episodes-long comedy Crashing often gets left unnoticed, it perfectly showcases the chaotic energy that two creatives share.
Luckily for the fans, both actors are always open for another reunion. This one, hosted by Interview Magazine, forced them to open up the deepest secrets.

According to Waller-Bridge, she knew Bailey was her best choice for Crashing's Sam as soon as he came in for his audition. While the comparison to the chaotic, closeted sex addict Sam may not be the most pleasant, Jonathan Bailey takes it as a compliment. Both mention the experience with obvious nostalgia.
The fact that two creatives would hit it off so well is not surprising, considering they share the same views even when it comes to classics.
As it turns out, both Bailey and Waller-Bridge share a great love and appreciation for William Shakespeare, no matter how controversial his figure has become in literary and theatrical discussions in recent years.
When asked about his thoughts on Shakespeare, Bailey jokingly replied that Shakespeare was his "dirty, filthy” habit. Waller-Bridge agreed, expressing her opinion on how classics should be consumed:
“If you come to it quite raw, and it’s not something that you’ve had shoved down your throat at school, there is nothing more epic and spectacular,” she said.
Unfortunately for all fans, there were no updates or promises of any upcoming collaborations between the two actors, Shakespeare-related or otherwise.
Considering how busy Jonathan Bailey has been over the past few years, continuing to shoot Bridgerton, starring in Showtime 's political thriller Fellow Travelers, and starring as Fiyero in the live-action Wicked movie, the chances of a surprise project like this are slim, but there's always something to look forward to.
