Tyrion Lannister actor's reluctance to watch the increasingly popular Game of Thrones prequel has to do with one of its core aspects.

These days, Peter Dinklage is a brand of his own, and he's been rocking and rolling in various movies for decades now.

Still, it was Game of Thrones that made him a true instantly recognizable superstar: Dinklage's Tyrion Lannister has become one of the most fan-favorite characters in the entire show since the first few episodes.

Curiously, Tyrion Lannister was one of the very few GoT characters who have managed to survive throughout the entire duration of the show.

Considering how he's never been a warrior and never cared to watch his tongue, you would've never put your bet on him in S1 — still, the last Lannister stayed with us until the end, and Peter Dinklage's only fame grew as time was passing.

Unlike many of his colleagues, Dinklage's career was not jump-started by Game of Thrones as he was already relatively known prior to it.

Still, just like his younger co-stars who dived into the world of intrigues and magic right off the bat, the actor grew tired with those aspects of the show — and when it finally ended, he decided to take a break.

At least, this is how Peter himself explains why he hasn't yet watched a single episode of GoT's prequel, House of the Dragon. The Tyrion Lannister actor claims he just really needed a "dragon break" and a diversion.

"I just did [Game of Thrones] for a really long time and I watched some other stuff. [But] I intend to, definitely. I heard it's really good. I just watched a lot of Rick and Morty. I really loved Ozark and stuff like that," Dinklage shared in one of his recent interviews.

Peter is far from being the only one who's feeling this way: most other Game of Thrones actors who were asked about watching House of the Dragon gave very similar answers to his.

While it can be hard to believe for us, the outsiders to George Martin 's world of might and magic, it seems that even dealing with dragons can be rather tiresome...

To the point where you're trying to avoid seeing those beasts at all.
