Fans are jokingly outraged by the actor’s inability to learn from his character’s (literally) traumatic experience.

Pedro Pascal has been out of Game of Thrones for years now, but he still may not be ready to recognize a major mistake that led to his character’s gruesome death.

Having spent quite some time without epic battles, Pascal will soon be back on the screens as Roman general Marcus Acacius in Ridley Scott ’s Gladiator II set around 20 years after the first movie’s events.

The first trailer for the upcoming sequel was quite controversial, garnering thousands of dislikes, yet it also once again reunited Game of Thrones fans that had a clear flashback to one of the show’s most disgusting scenes ever.

Back in the day, Pedro Pascal showed up in Game of Thrones as Oberyn Martell and quickly got the viewers’ admiration, but it didn’t let him stay on the show as long as everyone hoped. In season 4 episode 8, titled The Mountain and the Viper, Oberyn is completely destroyed by the Mountain, with the latter crushing his opponent’s skull in a fierce combat.

Oberyn’s death is still one of the entire series’ most repulsive sequences that caused lots of speculation regarding the character’s lack of care about his own safety since Oberyn had no real protective armor.

Despite that, his fate was still predictable considering who his rival actually was.

The new Gladiator II trailer seems to confirm that Pedro Pascal had nothing to learn from Oberyn Martell and his recklessness. The video sees Pascal’s character throwing himself into a massive battle without even wearing a helmet while the rest of the warriors around him are equipped with one.

The trailer didn’t incite that much excitement among Gladiator fans, but it truly horrified those who had sleepless nights after watching Oberyn Martell die on Game of Thrones.

One user addressed the issue in a joking manner stating that Pascal should have learned a lesson so many years after his character was killed off on the show. Others also revealed that the trailer’s scene with the actor running into a fight with no helmet brought them back their Game of Thrones PTSD and they’re definitely not ready to relive that moment ever again.

We’ll see whether Pedro Pascal’s character will be lucky enough to survive or not when Gladiator II hits the cinemas worldwide on November 22.
