'Paper Girls' Fandom Is Already Disappointed With Amazon Prime's Adaptation
The best-selling comic book series will finally get a live-action adaptation this summer, but it looks like the recent trailer leaves a lot to be desired.
Amazon Prime has just unveiled the first trailer for 'Paper Girls', a series following the lives of four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls who face a mysterious threat from the future. The original comic book, written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Cliff Chiang, was a big hit with readers, so the streaming giant's decision to adapt it for home screens was certainly a nor brainer. The first trailer promises rewarding and dangerous adventures, set within a cozy American suburbia.
However, while comic book fandom is excited at the prospect of seeing this beloved story in live-action, some viewers are already disappointed in Amazon's attempt to adapt the comic, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the series itself. The problem, according to fans, is poor marketing by Amazon Prime, which can lead to the series being quickly canceled upon release.

And even though the trailer doesn't show much in terms of narrative, fans of 'Paper Girls' are already worried that some will accuse the series of imitating one very popular show.
