The latest episode of The Mandalorian blew fans away with a certain surprise appearance.

Ever since The Mandalorian revealed that Grogu, the Force-sensitive baby companion of Din Djarin, was actually one of the few Padawans to survive Order 66 during the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, fans have speculated how he was able to escape the Jedi Temple under siege by the clones.

A flashback sequence in The Book of Boba Fett only showed several Jedi Knights being shot by the clone troopers and nothing more.

This situation gave rise to several fan theories, some of which were quite humorous.

Warning: Spoilers for The Mandalorian ahead.

One such theory claimed that Grogu was rescued by Jar Jar Binks, a Gungan military commander and politician who served as a comic relief character in Episode I – The Phantom Menace and later appeared as a supporting character in two other prequel films.

And now, with the release of episode 4 of The Mandalorian Season 3, some fans had to pick their jaws up off the floor. Another flashback sequence shows Grogu being rescued from the Temple by an unnamed Jedi.

He bravely fights off the clones, narrowly escapes an intense pursuit, and manages to get Grogu to the ship and off the planet Corusant.

The amazing thing is that this brave Jedi is played by none other than Ahmed Best, the same man who portrayed Jar Jar in the prequels.

It is especially heartwarming to see Ahmed play the character in the Star Wars universe that befits his status as a Star Wars veteran.

After years of unwarranted harassment from the most toxic part of the fanbase that followed him after he portrayed one of the most hated characters in the entire franchise, he finally got the respect he deserved and was given the role of a Jedi who saves arguably the most iconic character in the Mandalorian series.

Fans are celebrating Ahmed's appearance in the series.

"Ah that makes me so happy that Ahmed was in it. I love him, I love Jar Jar. Always have, always will. It always irked me how some fans treated him," Reddit user mand0lorian said.

They also wonder if the other popular theory about Jar Jar being a Dark Lord of the Sith will finally come true.
