Chad L. Coleman breaks silence on the show's possible renewal for a fourth season.

The third season of The Orville, an American science fiction comedy-drama television series created by Seth MacFarlane, ended more than a year ago.

Since then, the question of whether the show would be renewed for another season has remained unanswered, much to the disappointment of fans.

Now, finally, Chad L. Coleman, who plays the character of Klyden in the series, has given fans some information about the fate of the show.

"We're all in the loop and out of the loop. We think it's gonna happen, but it's still up in the air. There's so much going on with all of these studios that it's just like, 'Well, we gotta settle this thing first, then we can really decide on that thing,'" said the actor in an interview with CinemaBlend.

Fans are more than happy to hear such an optimistic response.

Although the first season received underwhelming reviews, the second and third seasons managed to improve the show greatly, earning an astounding 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Viewers point out that what began as a Star Trek parody has grown into some of the most thoughtful sci-fi on television in years.

As Reddit user BrokenGodALT pointed out: "This show is so underrated. I hope we get [at least] one more season just to wrap things up even [though] Season 3 ending was good enough for a series finale. You'd think Fox would keep Seth McFarlane happy and let him do it since it feels like he's forced to do Family Guy [ nowadays]."

Although it is too early to celebrate the return of the show, its creator and star Seth MacFarlane has indicated several times that his passion for continuing the show remains strong.
