The third season of Only Murders in the Building wrapped up on Hulu not too long ago. Not surprisingly, the show, which has been so well received by viewers, has been renewed for a fourth season, which, as it turns out, will change the location. Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich confirmed to Deadline that the three amateur sleuths will leave rainy New York for sunny Los Angeles:

“Well, I'm very excited to see Steve, Martin and Selena take a little break from the apartment building and come to Los Angeles.”

Arconia Was Inspired by Real Buildings

Arconia, where the main characters lived and solved crimes, was also a kind of character in the series. To create a collective image of the building, the show's writers were inspired by both the Ansonia house, which has its own rich history that is no less intriguing than the detective scenarios of the show itself, and the Belnord building.

And while viewers have become accustomed to Arconia's cozy interiors of antique lamps, fireplaces that gently warm the long fall nights, and mahogany furniture over the course of three seasons, we can be sure that a change of scenery will only benefit Mabel, Charles and Oliver – the show's creators have never disappointed their fans.

Where Did Events Take Place in Previous Seasons?

In the first two seasons, three detectives investigated crimes at the Arconia building. And at the end of second season, they made their way to the theater – actor Ben died during the performance. In Season 3, the detectives searched for Ben's killer, and for the first time, the events took place outside of Arconia.

Season 3 ended with another murder – someone shot Sazz, Charles's stunt double and longtime friend. Apparently, the investigation will lead Mabel, Charles and Oliver to Los Angeles, where another character beloved by the fans may appear – Loretta Durkin, played by Meryl Streep. Loretta left New York for Los Angeles because she received an acting offer.

Season 4 Potential Release Date

By the third season, the intrigue around the series has heated up to the limit, so quickly catch up with the first two so you can watch the fourth season already prepared. And it will not take you long: each episode is only 30 minutes long.

There is no exact release date for Season 4 yet, but most likely it can be expected on Hulu at the end of 2024.
