The amateur detectives are almost back for another intricate case.

On August 27, new episodes of the comedy detective series Only Murders in The Building, which has been nominated for prestigious awards such as the Emmy and Golden Globe, will air on Hulu.

In the fourth season, Mabel, Charles and Oliver will take on the investigation of another murder, and in the meantime, we will recall what happened in the previous season.

Season 3 Begins With a Shocking Death

The second season ended with all the characters gathering for the premiere of Oliver's new play, in which Charles is one of the characters. In the season finale, Mabel witnesses popular actor Ben Glenroy die during the performance.

The third chapter begins with a flashback to Loretta Durkin's audition. A few months later, she is already rehearsing with the team, but the play's star, Hollywood actor Ben Glenroy, asks Oliver to fire the inexperienced actress.

At this point, Mabel believes that Ben has been poisoned, but suddenly the man appears at a meeting and declares that his clinical death was provoked by ordinary food poisoning. And yet, a little later, the man really dies: his body is found in an elevator shaft.

Suspicion Falls on a Big Number of Characters

During another investigation, the main characters encounter an obsessive fan of Ben's who poses as his bodyguard and tries to kidnap Mabel and Charles. Oliver continues to work on the premiere and, after Ben's death, plans to turn the play into a musical.

Documentary filmmaker Tobert, who wanted to make a movie about Ben, gives amateur detectives a video recording of the Hollywood star a few minutes before he went on stage. Suspicion falls on the victim's brother, Dickie, and Charles' new girlfriend, Joy, because she owns the lipstick used to write the offensive message on the mirror in Ben's dressing room.

Meanwhile, Oliver is having an affair with Loretta, but one day he finds an album of newspaper clippings about Ben in her house. It also turns out that Charles had a big fight with the deceased on the eve of the premiere.

The Killer Turned Out to Be Someone No One Suspected

Finally, it is revealed that Dickie is Loretta's biological son. She gave him up for adoption to concentrate on her acting career. And she only collected articles about Ben because Dickie became his manager. To clear him, the woman confesses to the murder. However, the trio proves that both Dickie and Loretta are innocent.

Ben was poisoned by Broadway producer Donna, who feared the scathing reviews would ruin her son Cliff's career. Oliver's production was supposed to be his debut. It was Cliff who later pushed Ben down an elevator shaft.
